Harvest report - Castets and Touriga Nacional

In sunny conditions, a small team brought in tourigas in the morning and castets in the afternoon. But for some botrytis on the tourigas, the berries were in great condition. How lovely it is when sorting feels excessive. We took particular care of the castets where the phenolic ripeness was beyond full - touch the vine and the berries drop! Amazed that the caramel flavours when chewing castets grapes are even more pronounced in the vat. Our oncologist spoke of the candy alequin.. never tasted it but will definitely buy some next time in a supermarché.

Four out of six varietals safely in the winery. With a promising weather forecast we sit on our hands waiting for cabernet francs and petit verdots to concentrate in the sun.
